Couple of Cards

Hi everyone

A friend of my husbands yesterday popped in and asked, can I make him 2 cards. I said, well yes, depeneds for when, as I;m busy...."Oh not til tomorrow night".....Oh AGES!!!!

Well I did them, only quick..... 'Pink flowers' was the spec

Paper is Pink Petticoat Brocade

The lattice is a Sizzix embossing folder

Having a nuisance week, wedding work-wise.

One bride has had half the grooms side drop out so redoing all the seating plan, name cards etc

then one today has changed 2 of the 'leaves' from seating plan I'd finished yesterday!

"Less is More" Week 56

Good morning everyone

What a fantastic week I've had, albeit just a little stressful.

The wedding of my stepson Danny and his beautiful wife Jess yesterday was the most wonderful day. They are THE best stepkids. They treat me as an equal along with their own Mum & Dads, it is SO special.
I love them both very much.

The weather was absolutely amazing, could not believe our luck!

I had to theme the stationery to Royal Blue, Hot Pink and Gold.

The only downer on the day was that the venue wouldn't allow the tealights to be lit as it can mark the tablecloths. Mine were in crystal holders, and most on mirror plates, but, they wouldnn't budge.
 Rules are rules I guess......but, I was a VERY disappointed Step Mummy

It was a hotel ceremony and a no hat one, which was  shame as I love them! Had we known February 23rd was to be a 'Summer's day' I'd not have chosen black!

As much as I LOVE them my shoes hurt more than I have ever had shoes hurt! I was laughing in this photo cos Steve was saying, quick let me take on of you not standing like John Wayne!!


For those of you too young to know who that is, he was an actor in cowboy in many films for years ago!




Onto my card for this week our challenge this week is
"Don't Scrap It"
This card is similar to a layout I've already done. The red rolled roses is my last bit of red hammer card, so a scrap! The base of the card is of course a whole sheet, but, the hearts are also from my scrap drawer.

"Less is More" Week 55

Good morning

I feel like all Ive done is moan about my workload, so sorry! Just one of those times we have when there is so much to do. The shop I;ve started to design for has taken off so muh, I can't believe it. then my Stepson gets married thrusday so of course I have all their stationery to do. Have also taken over with the decoration for the tables...well you do don;t you lol We are off over to the mainland WEdnesday, 2 cars, few of our friends too. Hoping we can get it all in as we are in a Mini and a BM 3 series convertible, not excactly space galore!! Hey ho we will do it...have to!

Onto "Less is More" Stripes proved rather taxing to say the least, I had popularity feelings of acetate week all over again! Of courwse our brill LIMettes rose to the challenge and came up with some superb deisgns

This week is Theme week and

Punches or Die Cuts

Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Both my cards are using Pink Petticoat Stripes, in navy.

The heart is part of  Nellie Snellen Multi Frames Dies - Hearts, with punched flowers with pearls in the centre.

The second card is using the Stampin Up decorative Label Punch and the starfish are from a Sizzix Sizzlit set.

The couple chose this as their design.

"Less is More" Week 54

Good morning on a chilly February morning here in the UK.

My little Belle was 7 yesterday. Bless her she is such a sweet doggie

Here she is in a towel, if she gets wet she loves to have a towel across her, walks about with it for ages!

Before I tell you abotu our challenge I must say a HUGE thank you for all my comments last week, much appreciated. As you know Chrissie and I spend a lot of time and make sure we visit every entry of LIM so it;s lovely to get lots back....thank you! Chrissie almost made it to 100! WOW

"Less is More" this week is One Layer and

Stripes

I was 'lucky' as I have a Stampin up Striped stamp! However, as we said, it is pretty difficult of what else to do with it! It;s a pretty tricky week!

OK, so I took my card base and wanted to stamp the cricle off the edge. I cut a hole with my nestie to use as a mask. Because the width of the stamp is exactly the same width as the circle I found it quite tricky to get the exact placement, even with my Stamp-a-ma-jig! So I held the cut circle onto the stamp and inked through the circle in Versamark Orchid, then stamped it onto the card, just off the edge as you can see. I then stamped the Penny Black 'Ascent' stamp in Versafine Onyx Black over te top. I did make a little 'sun' in glitter using a zig pen and glamour dust.There is a feint look of stripes on the black, but, I think it adds to the effect. Finally added the sentiment, which is from a  Stampin Up set You Are Loved.

Same process for this but using Stampin Ip Whisper White, which I clear embossed. I don't have any sparkly embossing powder so if you are really quick....no quicker than that! you can sprinkle with ultra fine glitter I used Glam0ur Dust.

 no sentiment for this one, I can add or leave as is when I use it.

This is how the stamp looks once inked. you then stamp onto your card/paper

You will also notice some other stripes I was trying out. But, as my time was tight I couldnt get it quite as accurate as I wanted!

will definitely go back to it and post on my personal blog in a couple of days.

"Less is More" Week 53

Well the day has come.....

"Less is More" is one!

Chrissie and I are totally and utterly overwhelmed at the support and aprticipation we have had this year. "Less is More" has taken over the blog world...your words not ours

and we are chuffed to bits! Not to mention delighted that so many of you have grown to love simple designs, not overloaded wth layers and embellishements.

We cannot thank you enough!

Without further ado here is our challenge for this week

First week of the month and colour

Aqua

I'm quite fond of aqua as you can see from my kitchen and conservatory!

despite being quite a fan of aqua, to my horror there was not really too much on the aqua front in my craft room! In the end I used a Versacolor cube called 'Turquoise' but it's a definite aqua!

I took a piece of 8cm sqaure card and randomly stamped different flowers in varying strengths of ink to create a background. The flowers are Stampin' Up  plus a very old Anita's flower stamp which I love!

The sentiment to finish, is a Marion Emberson designed set. I adore her designs.

My second card is literally a motif stamped in the same ink [The make escapes me but our lovely LIMette Viv will know] Of course if I hadn't thrown out the packet I could have told you. But I'm a bit OCD like that and I throw packets!

So I stamped, then added gems and glittered to finish. No sentiment, which isn't a cop-out, 

I simply like it like this!

it is absololutely bitter cold this morning, we are all awating our first snow of the year. Oh we do go to pieces in this country with just a few inches on the ground!

Spec was to make a card for a girl turning 16 and loves Jack Wills

Jack Wills trademark is navy and pink stripe, both verticlly and horizontally

The pink looks paler in the photo than it is IRL.

So simple but I am really happy with it!

"Less is More" Sketch again...

 had to whizz a card together in double quick time so used the layout of our ever so popular sketch  on "Less is More" this week

The set Ive used is Stampoin Up Autumn Splendour, stamped in a mixture of Always Artichoke, Soft Suede and Old Olice. Stamped oto some ribbed kraft card I have in my stash and the sponged around the edge of the kraft panel in Soft Suede and Old Olive. The 3d leaf is Old Olive, then a charm to give a little mor interest. I had bought the raffia for a wedding invitation project and thought it went well with this too.

The card base is ivory hammer and the sentiment is Papyrus...one of my FAVs!

I am grateful to my lovely Chrissie for teaching me to do this whole sponging thing. I usually detest getting ink on my fingers so always resisted, but, I have clean fingers!! Not that I do her inking techniques justice, but, I'm  little way there...thanks again hun!
